February 7, 2011

Hi, sorry i didnt write last week it was crazy with the cambios. the zone leaders had a meeting and they all slept at our house and it was just a crazy day. right now i have to finish the mission newspaper thing, so thats what i ve been working on. i got a new comp so we are a three some once again. my old comp the one that was crazy left and i guess did really good this week he put two fechas and is doing really good. he is actually with elder lewis who is from thatcher so thats kind of cool. so he left so i thought it would be me and my other companion, but president came to me and told me he was putting someone else with us. this was more like the story in the best two years. this guy was going to be a zone leader has trained twice and was the highest baptizer in the mission. he lately has been going through some hard times though and wants to go home. it is really sad because he is such a good guy and a good missionary. i have learned a lot from him. he is a great guy but this last p day he woke up at 5 in the morning and left the house and no one knew where he went he just took off he ended up going into concepcion. So we had to spend our whole p day in the office waiting for him to come back so that was a little frustrating spending our whole p day in the office waiting but its all good. we had to wait there until 5 in the afternoon. i sadly think he is going to go home. he has really bad depression issues. i ve talked to him a lot, and i guess he has this chemical imbalance and the medication isnt working so he might have to go home. he is a great guy though and i really hope he stays i told him whatever he needs i am here to help him out. the day president told me he was going to come to the office with us we drove to angol together which is a part in our mission like 3 hours away and just talked. he knows a lot and has great ideas. my other companion is really funny a little nerdy, he is from Canada, but is a good guy too. he knows the most about random facts then anyone i have ever talked too. in his free time in the office he makes chain mail you know the stuff the knights wear. he also practices how to tie ties and can now properly tie 13 knots lol. he also really likes to talk about deep doctrine stuff which is funny. the house we live in is really good, its an apartment which is as good or better than mountain plaza. it actually has carpet, which is crazy because no one has carpet in chile. our sector that we work in is the richest in our mission and one of the richest parts in chile. its called san pedro and is like a 5 minute drive from concepcion. our office is in the middle of the city concepcion which is crazy. lebu was nothing like this. it was a small poor city, but i think what alma said is true poverty really does humble you a lot of times. a lot of people are harder to contact but its been good. we actually do a lot of our contacts through like microphone boxes because the people are so rich. we are working hard just waiting for the Lords blessings. the same thing happened in lebu, we worked hard for a couple of weeks and didnt have anyone and then all of a sudden the heavens were opened and we got so many people we didnt have time to visit them all. so i know the same thing will happen here we just got to keep working hard. we were opening this sector so we didnt have a carpeta de area or anything like that. also the oficinistas before us were kind of lazy so the members dont really like us a ton so we are trying to change that perception. so ya everything is good, we are just working hard. i am doing well, everything is good love you all lots. also i scraped the van we drive, the parking garages are so tight here, its crazy so i scraped the side pretty good, president always gives me crap about it, but i warned him before, but everything is great. love you all
